Treacherous Trails is the adventurous stand-alone expansion to Treacherous Tides. Designed for 3-6+ players, Trails builds on the foundation of Tides by combining strategy, luck and adventure in the wild west. Players shape the frontier as they map out the tracks to find the treasure, with new unique characters and the option to combine the game with Treacherous Tides for even more choice.

Just like the pirates, danger lurks in the ever-changing hills of Treacherous Trails. At any moment another player can betray an alliance, seize control of your posse and claim your hard-earned loot for themselves. A new location, new challenges and new characters come together in the wild west, expanding the player count and adding rule variations depending on how mean your group really is.

How it plays

The game begins with players rolling dice to assemble their wagon, acquire a banner and recruit a posse. If you know Tides, these are your Ship, Flag and Crew. Armed with these and their captain's unique abilities, players set out on an adventurous journey to uncover hidden treasure, building out the game board with each trip.

Using their captain's special skills, players navigate the changing landscape: through mines and old towns, into dangerous shoot-outs and the gold rush. Keep a look out for quick escapes and easy wins. The goal is to collect as much treasure as possible while staying one step ahead of everyone else's mutinous plans.

A game takes around 30 minutes, so Treacherous Trails is quick but packed with action. Will you become the King or Queen of the Wild West?

A stand-alone expansion

Trails plays perfectly on its own. You can also bring the Trails characters onto the maps and journeys of Treacherous Tides, or invite your favourite Tides captains out to the wild west. That grows the roster and lets more people join in either game.

More players means a longer game, and the rule book has a few extra cut-throat ways to play if your group wants them.

Trails is in testing now. Join the list below to hear about playtests and the launch first.
